Since there is no rain in the forecast I decided to check out the outside crack by the window.
I had temporarily sealed it to keep the water out.
When I opened it up I saw that it had been leaking for a long time as the chicken wire and paper has deteriorated.

So I then decided to open the inside to look for damage or mold. There is no mold and water damage is limited to the bottom where the particle board meets the foundation 2x4. I sealed that with mortar.
After spraying it with concentrated vinegar for any mold and orange oil pesticide for to keep critters out, I replaced the wallboard with left over drywall and the pieces I removed.
I'll recoat and paint the wall before continuing with the floor coating.
Also, I will re-stucco the outside wall after replacing the chicken wire/ paper.
I'll also fix any other cracks. We will match the existing paint.
